CHAPLAIN

Kathryn Ryan

Hello Everyone. My name is Kathryn Ryan, and I am a 2020 initiate of the Beta Xi chapter of Kappa Psi. I am currently in my 2nd year of pharmacy school at UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Within Beta Xi, I hold the Chaplain position and look forward to taking on a new position in the coming year. I am interested in nuclear pharmacy and exploring the drug development process.

I am from Emerald Isle North Carolina, so I enjoy going to the beach at any chance I can get. I moved here immediately after being born in Japan due to my dad's military background. I went to undergrad at UNC-Pembroke, where I got scholarship to play soccer with my twin sister and majored in chemistry. In my free time I love to explore new restaurants in the area and go out for hikes or do anything outdoors.

I first joined Kappa Psi to make friends with my classmates but since joining I have been able to look up to the older brothers as mentors and leaders. With Kappa Psi I have been able to build upon my leadership skills and make meaningful connections with the alumni of not only our chapter but other chapters as well. Kappa Psi has allowed me to grow as a professional and represent myself and the brotherhood to the best of my abilities. Kappa Psi has given me a family within pharmacy school that I can rely on for academic support yet also treat as a getaway from school to destress. Kappa Psi is the highlight of my weeks, and I am so glad that I can serve as this year's Chaplain for the Atlantic Province.

Fraternally,

Kathryn Ryan
